With our 2014 production of Othello GreenStage has completed Shakespeare’s canon! We’re continuing our celebratory look back at every play.
Today’s play is Twelfth Night. GreenStage has performed it five times, in 1991, 1992, 1995, 2008, and 2013. It is tied with A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the play we’ve produced most often.
Tony Driscoll directed the 1991 and 1992 versions, which featured John Bogar as Malvolio. The 2008 production was directed by Amelia Meckler, with a cast that included Matthew Ahrens, Shanna Allman, Nicole Fierstein, Ashley Flannegan, Banton Foster, Sam Hagen, Ryan Higgins, Drew Dyson Hobson, Thomas Maier, Ben McFadden, Orion Protonentis, and Nicole Vernon. The 2013 Backyard Bard version was directed by Marc “Mok” Moser.
That’s Vernon and Higgins in the photo above from 2008, and a cross-gartered, yellow-stocking-wearing Bogar at left from 1992.
