Time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve been having a total blast with our four plays this summer. But, friends, it is August and you have just two more weeks to catch The Two Noble Kinsmen, Much Ado About Nothing, and the Backyard Bard versions of Macbeth and The Two Gentlemen of Verona before we wrap up our 27th summer of free Shakespeare. That’s Emilia (Jennifer Ewing), over whom Arcite and Palamon fight in Kinsmen, in the photo at right.
Look for us this week at one of our favorite haunts, Magnuson Park, where we will have four performances, including a double feature of Much Ado and Kinsmen on Saturday. We’ll also be visiting Lynnwood, Fall City and Bainbridge Island during the week. Check our schedule for a complete list of times and places.
We continue to smile about what we see and hear at GreenStage performances. Last weekend at Camp Long the actors, in the preamble of the show, reminded the audience of its sister shows performing around the area. On a blanket near us a young girl, maybe 8 or so, explained to a younger companion that they really shouldn’t have used the word “Macbeth.” We’re glad they’re learning their theater lore early!
We’re biased, of course, but we think all four of our shows are great! Did we mention they’re free? Go see a play!
